- How do you read an addition chart?
- Pick one number along the top row and one down the left column. The cell where that row and column meet is the sum. For example, the cell where row 6 meets column 7 shows 13, so 6 + 7 = 13.
- What is the best way to learn addition facts?
- Practice a few facts a day and lean on patterns: adding 1 counts up by one, adding 0 changes nothing, and the doubles (1+1, 2+2, 3+3 …) are worth memorizing since near-doubles like 6+7 are just a double plus one. Fill in a blank chart to check your recall.
