Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
MyMathKid (“MyMathKid,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of families who use our K-8 math learning platform at www.mymathkid.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Children & Parental Consent (COPPA)
MyMathKid is designed to be used by parents, guardians, and educators on behalf of children, including children under the age of 13. Accounts must be created and managed by an adult. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create their own accounts or to provide us with personal information directly.
In compliance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), any personal information relating to a child (such as a child’s first name, grade level, and learning progress) is provided by and under the control of the parent or guardian who created the account, and is collected only with that parent or guardian’s consent. A parent or guardian may review, update, or delete their child’s information, or refuse further collection, at any time by using their account dashboard or by contacting us at the addresses below.
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use the Service, and we do not condition a child’s participation on disclosing more information than is necessary. We do not sell children’s personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Parent/guardian account information: name and email address, and a securely hashed password (or a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
- Child profile information: the child’s first name (or nickname), current grade level, and optional placement-quiz results, all entered by the parent or guardian.
- Learning & progress data: worksheets completed, scores, points, streaks, badges, saved worksheets, video progress, and interactive practice sessions associated with a child profile.
- Billing information: subscription status and plan. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.
- Technical & security data: IP address, browser/user-agent, and authentication audit logs used to secure accounts, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits.
- Communications: email address and preferences when you subscribe to a newsletter, request a placement quiz result, or contact support.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including child progress tracking and learning paths;
- create and secure accounts, authenticate sign-in, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- process subscriptions and payments through Stripe;
- send transactional emails (such as account, security, and billing notices) and, where you opt in, newsletters and learning updates;
- understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children’s personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with a limited set of trusted service providers (sometimes called “processors” or “subprocessors”) who help us operate the Service. They are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe receives payment and billing details directly.
- Google (OAuth) — optional “Sign in with Google” authentication. If you choose this option, Google provides us with your basic profile (name and email) to create or access your account.
- BuiltWithHeart — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
- Microsoft Clarity — product analytics that help us understand aggregate usage and improve the Service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will provide notice and honor the commitments in this Policy).
Data Retention
We retain account, child profile, and learning-progress data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Authentication and security audit logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations or to resolve disputes.
Your Rights (Access, Export & Deletion)
Regardless of where you live, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and your children;
- Correct inaccurate information through your dashboard;
- Export a copy of your account and child progress data in a portable format;
- Delete your account, individual child profiles, and the associated data; and
- Withdraw consent or opt out of marketing email at any time.
You can manage much of this directly from your account dashboard. To request an export or full deletion, or for any privacy request, contact us at security@mymathkid.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to and deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, use the contact details below.
European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR (and equivalent laws), including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal bases for processing include performing our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (for example, marketing email and child data collection), our legitimate interests (such as securing the Service), and compliance with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), securely hashed passwords and tokens, HttpOnly authentication cookies, account-lockout protections, rate limiting, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any incidents. To report a security concern, contact security@mymathkid.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
