1. Example 1

   5 × 5 = ?

   1. Think of 5 groups of 5.
   2. 5 × 5 = 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5
   3. Skip count by 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25
   4. The 5th number is 25.
   5. 5s trick: 5 × 5 = half of 5 × 10 = half of 50 = 25

   Answer: 25

2. Example 2

   2 × 3 = ?

   1. Think of 2 groups of 3.
   2. 2 × 3 = 3 + 3
   3. Skip count by 3: 3, 6
   4. The 2nd number is 6.
   5. 2s trick: Just double the number!

   Answer: 6

3. Example 3

   2 × 5 = ?

   1. Think of 2 groups of 5.
   2. 2 × 5 = 5 + 5
   3. Skip count by 5: 5, 10
   4. The 2nd number is 10.
   5. 2s trick: Just double the number!

   Answer: 10
