   Which digit is in the hundredths place of 1.01?

   1. Right after the decimal point come the tenths, then the hundredths, then the thousandths.
   2. In 1.01, the digits after the point are 0, 1. The hundredths digit is the second one.
   3. So the digit in the hundredths place of 1.01 is 1.

   Answer: 1

2. Example 2

   Which digit is in the hundredths place of 1.48?

   1. Right after the decimal point come the tenths, then the hundredths, then the thousandths.
   2. In 1.48, the digits after the point are 4, 8. The hundredths digit is the second one.
   3. So the digit in the hundredths place of 1.48 is 8.

   Answer: 8

3. Example 3

   Which digit is in the hundredths place of 1.96?

   1. Right after the decimal point come the tenths, then the hundredths, then the thousandths.
   2. In 1.96, the digits after the point are 9, 6. The hundredths digit is the second one.
   3. So the digit in the hundredths place of 1.96 is 6.
