   1. To build the number, add the value of each place: 3000 + 600 + 2.

2. Example 2

   What number is 40,000 + 6000 + 900 + 7?

   1. To build the number, add the value of each place: 40000 + 6000 + 900 + 7.
   2. 40000 + 6000 + 900 + 7 = 46907.

   Answer: 46907

3. Example 3

   Write 791,206 in expanded form

   1. Expanded form shows what each digit is worth. Break 791206 apart place by place.
   2. So 791206 = 700000 + 90000 + 1000 + 200 + 6.

   Answer: 700000 + 90000 + 1000 + 200 + 6
