   1. Multiply before you add or subtract: 2 × 8 = 16, so now you have 10 + 16.
   2. Add: 10 + 16 = 26.

   Answer: 26

2. Example 2

   7 × 3 + 5 = ?

   1. Multiply before you add or subtract: 7 × 3 = 21, so now you have 21 + 5.
   2. Add: 21 + 5 = 26.
   3. So 7 × 3 + 5 = 26.

   Answer: 26

3. Example 3

   (10 × 10) + 3 = ?

   1. Parentheses first: 10 × 10 = 100, so now you have 100 + 3.
   2. Add: 100 + 3 = 103.
   3. So (10 × 10) + 3 = 103.

   Answer: 103
