Grade 5 Measurement: Customary System
Master customary conversions
What You'll Learn
- Convert feet, pounds, gallons
- Use conversion factors
📖Customary
Memorize the conversion factors! 1 foot = 12 inches, 1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches, 1 pound = 16 ounces, 1 ton = 2000 pounds, 1 gallon = 4 quarts, 1 quart = 2 pints, 1 pint = 2 cups.
✏️Both directions
7 pounds = 7 × 16 = 112 ounces. 42 feet = 42 ÷ 3 = 14 yards. 3 feet 5 inches = 36 + 5 = 41 inches.
Worked examples
Real problems from the practice worksheets, solved one step at a time.
