Named practice method

The MyMathKid Method

About 10 minutes a day: the right mix of review, new learning, and fix-ups for this child — not another folder of random worksheets.

What it is

A daily adaptive loop implemented in product (not a PDF scope-and-sequence sold as a full school program). Free printables and approach pages (Singapore-style, spiral review, etc.) supply problem techniques; the Method is how we sequence practice for a real child over time.

Honest limits: we are not Primary Mathematics, Beast Academy, or a district curriculum. See About.

1. Review first

Spaced-repetition (SM-2) pulls skills that are due — so shaky facts get another look before they fade.

2. Next skill

A short set at the child’s working level for this topic (adaptive pointer), not a random PDF from a grade label alone.

3. Remediate patterns

When wrong answers show a pattern (e.g. adding instead of multiplying), we route practice to that gap.

4. Parent proof

Parents see mastery, focus areas, and streaks — Premium unlocks detailed reports and full history.

Scope & sequence (simplified)

  1. Parent sets grade; optional placement quiz suggests a band.
  2. System seeds per-topic working levels; daily plan fills review → new → remediation.
  3. Mastery + SM-2 schedule future reviews; difficulty escalates on strong sessions.
  4. Parent dashboard shows standing and next steps; Premium deepens reports.

Technical spine: buildDailyPlan, skillMastery, reviewSchedule, error patterns — documented in the engineering handbook.

Outcome proof (early)

We do not invent testimonials or usage stats. Proof modules today: parent-visible mastery and streaks in-product, deterministic seeds for teachers, and unit economics tracking free→practice→paid. As pilot families complete 30+ days of daily plans, we will publish anonymized progress summaries here — never fabricated ratings.
