2. Example 2

   Solve: x − 5 = 8

   1. Add 5 to both sides: x = 8 + 5 = 13.
   2. Check: 13 − 5 = 8 ✓ So x = 13.

   Answer: 13

3. Example 3

   Solve: 20 = n − 15

   1. Flip the sides so n is on the left: n − 15 = 20.
   2. Add 15 to both sides: n = 20 + 15 = 35.
   3. Check: 35 − 15 = 20 ✓ So n = 35.

   Answer: 35
