📖Subtracting Zero
When you subtract 0 from any number, the number stays the same! 5 - 0 = 5, 3 - 0 = 3. Taking away nothing means nothing changes.
📖Subtracting the Same Number
When you subtract a number from itself, you get 0! 5 - 5 = 0, 3 - 3 = 0. If you take away everything, nothing is left.
Think of subtraction as the opposite of addition. If 2 + 3 = 5, then 5 - 3 = 2 and 5 - 2 = 3!
📖Counting Back
To subtract, you can count backwards. For 5 - 2, start at 5 and count back 2: 4, 3. The answer is 3!
